The kids are enjoying swimming lessons and I'm just about worn out keeping up with them. Yesterday, Kian overcame his fear of the deep water and ventured too far into the pool. Thus, he had to be rescued again...that's the 2nd report we have had to fill out at the KROC Center since we've lived here. I will be sooooo happy when he learns to swim. :)
School is out and our summer is planned. Today is library day and the kids love it there. We take a big bag and load it up with tons of books for the week. Jonathan and I have really enjoyed reading to the kids in the evening before bedtime. Some of our favorites so far have been The Box Car Children and some books by Beverly Cleary.
We have had our share of Mid-west weather and have surrendered to the basement on several occasions. Thank goodness for weather radios that keep us informed. We feel very blessed to have escaped the last storm that did some incredible damage and re landscaping of our neighbor town Hannibal, Missouri. They experienced 100 mph winds that took down numerous trees and power lines. Many from our church have gone to help with the cleanup and they finally have electricity back and streets cleared. After watching the horrific coverage of Oklahoma you realize that life can change in an instant and not to take anything for granted.
WEll, here's to worms and another day playing in the mud!
