Happy 4th of July

Independence Day...
We enjoyed Jonathan's special apple pancakes :) and lots of fun playing in the yard.
Mud fight, water fight, decorating cupcakes, playing in our little plastic pool, bubbles, water guns Popsicles and getting locked out the house for an hour. (Kaidence thought that it would be pretty fun, but when I couldn't get the garage door opener to work I was not a happy mom. Jonathan was gone to mandatory training meeting and would not be home for another 2 hours.) You have to know that this is not the first time this has happened to me. In fact, I think the Lord must be trying to teach me something called "Patience" when these things happen, but I'm afraid I've failed miserably every time.
The outcome was favorable as Kaidence decided we should pray, (I told her she should say the prayer because I was too mad). With child-like faith she prayed while I climbed the fence and went back to the garage door to try our code one more time. IT OPENED! Kaidence was quite pleased and I guess at least she learned a great lesson about prayer, though I did make it clear that it would have been better not to lock us out of the house. :)
We enjoyed a beautiful evening in the great outdoors with the Love Family in our ward. They live in a forest with a pond out front and the kids swam and exhausted themselves playing while I chased Kian and Sophia around. It was a big crowd with several families and young children. We enjoyed lots of fireworks, sparklers, glow bracelets and some saltwater taffy.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to celebrate.
Happy Birthday America!

I have loved all of your stories. It seems that all is going well in IL. I absolutely love the potatoe bug story.
