Jonathan has been studying almost 24/7 for his upcoming board exam and even as busy as he has been, I'm so grateful for the time he makes for us. Tuesday was a special night for
Kaidence. She got all dressed up with a special necklace, some of Mommy's perfume, and her high heels. I even let her put a little blush on her cheeks and some lip gloss. When the clock passed 7 p.m.
Kaidence insisted that we give Daddy a call. When he didn't answer his phone, it was so cute to hear her excited voice say..."Daddy?" "Daddy, I'm ready...I'm ready." She could hardly wait. I
snapped a picture of them and off they went, first to the pet store to hold some cute little puppies, and then to the ice-cream shop.
On Thursday night it was Chase's turn and he looked pretty stellar too! He wanted the whole shebang: cologne, a special charm necklace/chain Daddy gave him from his mission in Honduras and some gel in his hair. (That's what happens to little brothers who have a Big Sister and Mommy to dote over them). HE smelled extra-good and was so glad when Daddy showed up to take him out for some buddy time.
This has been such a wonderful tradition and something I know the kids will always cherish.
Now it's my turn for a date......... :)

What a good idea. We've tried it, but sometimes have a hard time remembering to do it. Do you do it once a month? on certain days? I'm sure your kids will treasure those memories with their dad!
I think we need to join in on this tradition. What a great idea. I love that you have pictures of them too!
I love your family traditions. I'm afraid ours are polar opposites. You guys are setting a great example for us "in-actives" ;)
