Everytime I hold my sweet Sophia I notice that her little toes and fingers are getting bigger and her cheeks a little chubbier. It really started to sink in last weekend when I sorted through her clothes and tucked her newborn outfits back into the baby bin. I'm very sentimental about these milestones, and the reality that "little" doesn't stay little very long. I think back to when she was first born and I wonder at the mystery...how one can grow right before my eyes.
A few weeks ago, I was given a baby gift with a sweet note and important advice;
"Wherever you are, BE THERE".
What does it mean to really "
Be there." ??? I guess that is for each of us to decide.
For me, it means I need to focus and live in the moment, Not in yesterday, Not in tomorrow, and Not in next year. I have this habit of MULTI-Tasking and while it can be very efficient, I can get lost in all the things I'm doing and forget where I need to be and who needs me to be there.....
It has been 10 beautiful weeks. Sophia has a certain peace about her that is refreshing. There is a gentleness and sweetness in her eyes that enriches my day and gives me the energy boost I need to keep going. Even during the night, I welcome the chance to hold her, even though half asleep sometimes. She is a beautiful blessing and I'm so grateful to watch her grow, even if it does beckon a tear or two.
Happy 10 beautiful weeks Sophi!
Love,
Mommy

That's a beautiful post. I agree with you about the multi-tasking. I'm the same way, and it's easy to forget the moment.
They just grow too fast, I get all sad and sentimental every time I go through my kids clothes and tuck away the stuff they have outgrown.
Heather told me you wanted an invite to my blog. It's a good thing she did because I only look at your blog every month or so and I never go back and look at the comments. I can't believe your baby is 10 weeks old. It seems like just yesterday you were down in bed and hoping to carry her to maturity. I'm glad everything turned out well.
She is getting so big and I know how you feel. I can't wait to see you all soon. P.S. I think that's awesome that Jon is taking the kids out on their b-day #. That's a great idea.
