Home Sweet Home

The saga of this past month has been sweet with the comforts of family and home. It was my first trip away during Jonathan's finals and a memorable one at that as my Brother-in-law Eloy offered to take us to Burley, Idaho on his way through Vegas in his Semi truck. I must say it was a ride to remember for me and the kids. Thank you Eloy! We enjoyed the sweet hospitality of the Mendoza family for a week and the kids absolutely loved playing with Remington and Ember and smothering baby Brooklyn with kisses. Marci discovered that the baby actually sleeps quite well with a lot of racket going on and lets just conclude that Chase had that covered. Thank you Marci for the wonderful memories of slip and slide in the back yard, popcicles, dirt art all over your side walks, unexpected water fights with the hose and everything else in between. Next, the beauty and majestic mountains (still covered in snow) welcomed us home to Star Valley for a few weeks of mostly playing in the rain and enjoying family get togethers. It was great to see all the Nield family at Jack's baptism and blessing. Then, we headed to Alta, Wyoming for the Wilson family reunion. Grandma's was a house full of buzzing bee's (children bouncing off the walls (though our's didn't quite stand out as much with the 15 plus other great grandkids running around). I must admit I have never seen so much love and spirit of working together as is the Wilson Family Tradition. I feel so blessed to be apart of such a beautiful family. I've also never seen so much yummy food turned out and demolished so quickly as is also another highlight of such family get togethers. A high light for the kids was seeing the baby lambs, a new colt, and the peace and serenity of country life. The hardest part for me was the nostalgia of longing to be a little girl playing in the hay, saddling my horse, and just being a cowgirl. Jonathan had the wonderful opportunity of shadowing an orthopedic surgeon in Star Valley and watching some amazing surgeries. He is gaining great experience and is leaning towards a rural family practice someday. Leaving Home is always bitter sweet. For me, it means returning to routine, (which is a good thing for the kids) and better sleep, but facing the blazing heat and the longing for home and quiet peaceful summers surrounded by family. The fact that I was welcomed by a cockroach in my bathroom sink did not do much to cheer me up. I'm truly afraid of the ugly things and so today I spent a good time spraying everywhere for the dreaded creatures and just praying they won't find a way in our apartment this summer. Please cross your fingers for me. For Jonathan, this summer will mean working a part-time job at at a family clinic with old co-workers and finishing his project for his Master's Degree. He is happy to have 1 year behind him in Medical School and hopes his summer break will slow down enough for him to accomplish all he has his mind set to do before his second year starts up in August. With all these plans, it seems the summer is going too fast already. Well, this was surely a lengthy update to what we've been up to. We hope everyone is doing well and I'll try a little harder to keep up with this blog.

I should've figured that you were on a fun trip, since you hadn't posted in awhile. I'm glad it was that and not that you or your kids weren't feeling well. It looks like the 4 kids have a lot of fun together. It's great you can see them once in awhile. I love the picture or Ember and Kaidence.

How can this be? I missed you AGAIN! I ran into Jonathan in the hospital the last day you were in town but Tom and I were already coming down with the crud so we didn't run you down to infect you with our germs. Don't you love these cool Star Valley summers? I miss you and your beautiful family. Let me know when you are in town again, I'd love to see you again:)

Vacations are never long enough and it's hard getting back to "Real Life" after a fun trip.
I wish we could have spent more time together "no matter how wild it seemed" at times. We loved having you and look forward to your next stay in Burley.
Love ya,
I'll pray about the Cockroaches for you. Yikes!!! LOL!

This is emily. Your kids are getting so big, they are very cute. So is Jonathan doing like family practice or is going to specialize? I work for an Orthopaedic group in Logan & love it. Was he following Dr. Goble in SV? I know him from Logan. It's good to run into you in this blogging world, feel free to visit our blog. Take care.
