Sick Days... the mother of invention

I think we've had more creativity in our apartment today than normal. First things first Kaidence felt it appropriate to put on her bathing suit. She even helped change Chase into his swimming trunks. They pretended to swim and eat fish food and swim from Sharks, witches, and bears. Must be the sick bug or the the Albuterol Nebulizer treatments that have our kids on a "buzz" today. I locked them in their room for a nap after lunch and they played and played. In fact my little guy who usually sleeps for a couple of hours in the afternoon hasn't even blinked yet. So, after my little nap, I checked the damage in their room and released them from "nap time bondage". I searched my cuppords for a solution and found pudding. Perfect paint and edible too. Surprisingly, Chase couldn't stand having his fingers so messy but he did manage to make "chocolate mud puddles." Kaidence dove right in with creations of her own and enjoyed licking the yummy pudding off her fingers. Her artwork is still on the table as she is determined to make sure Daddy sees it when he gets home. Next, came the towel races, jumping on the bed, you name it we've done it today.
Here's to sick days at our house.

Hey Mindi,

Your kids have good imaginations! Looks like you had a FUN day! My kids have yet to paint with pudding! I can't imagine the mess that they would make and I am not willing to clean up after it. We no longer have carpet under our dining room table so now it wouldn't be so bad if they dropped some on the floor. I need to be better about letting my kids be messy! I did teach Dallin how to play four square and hopscotch yesterday. The nice thing about being a Mom is being able to be a kid with your kids! I hope you all feel better soon!

Pudding. What a fun, and yummy idea. . . but I'm a lot like Staci. I dred the clean up part. You are such a good mom.
Kaidence and Chase are so lucky to have you.
Hope the kiddos feel better soon.
