It has been a week of firsts at our house. Kaidence and Chase started school on Monday and I still can't believe that I have a 1st and 2nd grader this year. They are growing up and learning all sorts of things. I love to hear their stories and relish every detail I can get out of them when they get off the bus.
Kaidence is particularly good with the details and if you want to hear a good story you just sit back and listen to this girl. The expressions on her face, the tone of her voice, it's a total body workout for her to explain the events of her day and that is my Kaidence. :) Chase, on the other hand, will often say..."It was good." When I ask for more details he shrugs his shoulders and says he can't remember. (That's a boy thing I guess.)At home I am settling into a new routine with my babies...yes all three. Sophia is starting "Mommy School" and I love playing teacher and working on pre-school stuff. (Maybe someday I'll become a pre-school teacher. I love everything about it, except for germs, but that's why we have sanitizer, so I'm covered. :) ) Sophia is lovable and playful when she wants to be and down right stubborn and fiesty when she wants to be. It's about 50/50 around here. I can never gage her reactions. She keeps me guessing all day long. She is adjusting to her little sister with lots of love and some jealousy. Luckily, though, it's not aimed at the baby, I think it's aimed at me and anyone else that wants to help her. We love Sophia. No telling what this little girl will accomplish when her determination is centered on the right things. :)
Kian is well, Kian, always on the run. Running for fun, running with mischief written all over his face, running from danger or running with danger in his hands. Yesterday I caught him just in time as he was opening and closing the kitchen scissors. An important detail that I forgot to mention is that Kian is FAST. Besides having a "line backer" physic, I think he also has a great shot at sprinting. You have no idea how fast a kid can run until you have A house that functions as a race track, around and around. Why do they build houses like that? Drives me crazy. As of late, I haven't been able to catch him and thank goodness for a team of older siblings who intervene and hold onto him. We love Kian. He keeps us on our toes and the floor is always clean around here as he has a fascination with water. That is dumping water on the floor. Just ask Grandma Lori. :)Baby Eden is as sweet as they come. For that, I'm soooo thankful. Heavenly Father knew I needed a calm and easy going little one and that is exactly what I have. She is so precious, and tiny, and her eyes are blue. I love them. They are so pretty. Maybe her hair will turn red, who knows.
As for me, having a c-section was a first, but I have survived and actually feel pretty surprised at how good I feel. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm now supposed to lift anything for 6 weeks I'd be doing anything I want...but I'm trying to be good and let others help me.It has been such a blessing to have Jonathan's Mom here. She has spoiled us with her love, her wonderful food, and has so much patience with our little characters. I told her the other day, she will need a real vacation after she goes home to recover from all we've put her through. Her love and genuine service for us touches my heart deeply. She is the angel of smiles, chocolate chip cookies, homemade crocheted hats for the kids, hide and seek, fun stories, and goodness in all she does. I feel so blessed!

Jonathan is ever busy with work. He is loved and admired by his co-workers, patients, and colleagues. It seems I am constantly meeting people that know him. Sometimes, I feel like a celebrity around here as "Doctor Wilford's wife". Sometimes, I feel a little jealous that these strangers to me, see him more than I do. Such is the busy life of residency.
Well, I think I've covered most things, so I will sign off for today. Blogging keeps my perspective and I enjoy sharing my experiences. When all is quiet...the kids are sleeping... and I start to write....it feels like the mundane of days become more of a treasure as I recount the simplicity and grand design of being a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend.
Here's to new beginnings... and an early welcome to FAll.

so good to see your growing family! I cannot beleive how big Kaidence and Chase are. Samarrah and Ayo start school on Monday, and I am struggling with having them both gone, even though Ayo will only be gone half day, I cannot imagine what I will do when they are both gone all day :) Glad you are doing well after your c-section, I have always felt pretty good after mine too. Your family is beautiful, we miss you guys!
