Chase turns 5

Today was a wonderful day! It's the kind of day you wish for all year long...when your 4 years old and you can hardly wait to be 5. Because 5 means your bigger, stronger, wiser, and well, 5 is just cool. This has been an awesome day. I hope Chase enjoyed it as much as I did. :)

As a Mom, you realize that time is a fragile and precious thing. You don't get to relive the moments, you have to enjoy them while they are in front of you (a wise friend reminded me of that).

So today I took in the moments and I watched my son wake up with that "Birthday glimmer" in his eye. I felt the excitement in the air all around him. I smiled really big when he told me to check out how tall he was...and he really is getting tall. He invited some really nice friends to come over for a "Shark Party". We had a fishing pool, a slip'n slide, side walk chalk, water guns, Koolaid stand, and Daddy's homemade Shark Pinata. The party was as sweet and smooth as the ice-cream we had with Chase's cake. It was just wonderful! I'm so glad we had the opportunity to celebrate this special day and this amazing boy. I love my Chase so much! Happy Birthday Big Boy!!!
