Our New Year's Baby turned 5 on Saturday and I think it is the first time I didn't cry. I am the sentimental type that has a hard time watching my baby grow up, but this time I made it a point to revel in her day with her. (Ok, so I did have a tear in my eye when we sang to her) but I made it through.
Kaidence was soooo excited that her day had finally arrived. We had been planning her party for weeks and after all the celebration of Christmas and New Years, it was finally her turn. She woke us up bright and early on January 2nd and asked if it was time to blow up the balloons. :)
I rented a room at the Michael's Craft store and we celebrated "Kaidence Style." She is our crafting Queen and loves anything to do with paint, accessories, glue, etc. Our craft included little storage boxes that the kids could paint and decorate. They turned out really cute and the kids had a blast.

The party went smoothly and she was in 7th Heaven. She got shy when it was time to blow out her candles and spent her birthday song under the table tying her shoe. But, she blew out the candles in one breath. I have to say, her 3-layer cake turned out cute, but tasted even better than that, thanks to Betty Crocker and a yummy pudding filling.
The Party Crowd: Kate, Kaidence, Jordyn, and Madison Brandon, Halle, Chase, Sophia, and Shea
After the celebration, we took friends home and found some quiet time at home. We enjoyed the afternoon at the park and she openned a few more presents at home.
Chase and Sophia crashed around 6:30 p.m. and Kaidence and I spent some time at the kitchen table making bracelets and putting make-up on. Kaidence loves to sit and talk like she is a grown-up so I had to laugh when she said, "Ok, now let's exchange some words." What a gal.

We sure love our Kaidence and are so grateful she is apart of our family. Just a note about Kaidence. She has many qualities I admire. She is thoughtful, sensitive, independent, helpful and has a strong desire to do what is right. Happy Birthday Kaidence! WE LOVE YOU!!!!
