Kaidence

Our New Year's Baby turned 7 yesterday. I say New Years, because even though she arrived at 5:36 a.m. on January 2nd, she was the first baby born at the Star Valley Medical Center in 2005.
During a Wyoming Blizzard, I held my baby close for the first time and I knew for sure that this day was the best day of my life, the day I became a mother.
There were no other patients in the hospital that day, so you can imagine how attentive the nurses were. They tried and tried to get me to rest with promises of taking good care of my baby, but I turned each of them away. I was sleep deprived and out of my mind, but I wanted every moment with her.
Now, 7 years later, I'm still jealous of my time with this beautiful, sweet, courageous, stalwart, sensitive, strong, creative, imaginative, and amazing daughter of mine. Kaidence can steal your heart in a 100th of a second. She is a tease, and always ready for a story, (mainly, she loves to make up stories.) Most of the time I have a hard time knowing what is real. :) Kaidence is as graceful as a butterfly, as playful as a puppy, and as independent and bossy as the biggest sister should be.
She is dependable, delightful, diligent, and destined to please. What more can I say. She is a keeper.
This year, I asked Kaidence if she would like me to take her out to lunch with a friend or just have a Mommy date with me. (I promise no bribes were made). Guess what? She chose me.
This may be the last time I get picked over friends, (I sure hope not), but I felt pretty special yesterday as we got all dressed up (nails done and all :) and headed to Pizza Hut for lunch. One thing is for sure, as I sat there eating those little personal pan pepperoni pizzas with Kaidence, I counted my blessings and tucked the memory deep in my mother heart. I will always be grateful for each moment and opportunity I get to be with my Kaidence.
Happy Birthday New Year's Baby!
I Love YOU!

adorable pictures of Kaidence. I still remember coming over to your little basement apartment and getting her all to myself while you and Jon went to sacrament meeting. She was soooooo tiny. Can't believe she is already 7. Miss you all so much. Hope we can get the Skype thing working better.
Love ya,
