As we walked out of the convention center at the Rio on Sunday, May 15th where Jonathan's graduation was held, Sophia pulled on my hand and exclaimed, "It's a Happy Day Mom." I think that statment summed up the event very well. It's been a long and momentous journey for us all.
My heart was full of happy tears as I watched my dear husband make his way down the eisle and up onto the stage, cap and gown, a big smile and a grateful heart. He has worked very hard at school and on the home front too. No one could be quite as proud of him as I am. It has been amazing to watch this dream unfold, day by day, even hour by hour.
6 years ago, we left our beautiful mountain home in Afton, Wyoming and embarked on a new journey here in Henderson, Nevada. Kaidence was 9 months old at the time. Jonathan worked full-time as a medical assistant and completed a Masters Degree in Public Health at UNLV by going to night school. Upon completion of his Masters, he was accepted into Medical School at Touro University, a Jewish Private school here in Henderson. It was 4 years of endless studying, tests, rotations and family responsibilites. In my book, Jonathan finished with top honors. We have had our share of challenges, but together we have seen each other through and accomplished something very important, a family and a future.
Our lives have been so enriched by the experiences and the wonderful friends we have made here. A treasure of memories will follow us as we embark on this new journey to Quincy, Illinois. Our hearts are tender as we pack up our things and prepare to make our big move. We have been very blessed and are extremely grateful that we were able to close on our new home this past Friday. The kids are anxious and excited to explore their new back yard and play with their very own golden retriever puppy we have been promising them for a few years now. It is all in the works. I have come to know that the Lord is aware of even the very small details of our lives, and for this, I am so grateful. We certainly couldn't have done it without the love, the prayers, and the encouragement of our family. Thank you to all who have made this dream possible!
Happy Graduation Jonathan! We Made it!
